Presents the algebra equations visually for the sighted teachers and students.
Individuals who are pencil impaired (blind, motor impaired, or learning disabled) have a very difficult time writing and manipulating Algebraic equations, since operating a pencil effectively is very difficult if not impossible.
If they are blind or visually impaired they have the additional problem of not being able to see the equation and its elements.
So, the goal of this project was to develop an environment on a computer that would allow pencil impaired students to learn and demonstrate that they have the ability to solve higher-level math problems.
This standard Windows application presents the algebra equations visually for the sighted teachers and students, and audibly for anyone who is blind and uses the Jaws screen reader.
